Larian Studios’ CEO confirmed during a talk at GDC 2024 that picking up their RPG, Baldur’s Gate 3, after some time away isn’t too intimidating. The studio, however, revealed a big surprise – it won’t be working on Baldur’s Gate 4 or creating any expansions for BG3.
Instead, it valued its creative freedom and announced plans to develop its own IPs. Larian is currently working on two new projects and expressed excitement about the future.
Unfortunately, there are no details about the new projects yet. The studio’s announcement on Steam hinted that the new projects are in early stages but will carry on the sensibilities of Baldur’s Gate 3.
