On April 25, Fallout 4 is receiving a sudden next-gen update, compelling Team FOLON to make adjustments to their mod in order for it to be compatible with the new framework. Project lead, Dean Carter, mentioned that this process could take anywhere from a week to a month, resulting in an indefinite delay for the release of Fallout London. This delay not only affects the game’s already-released mods but also impacts those that are still in progress. Dean Carter emphasized in a video that the sudden release of the update has forced the team to postpone the mod indefinitely to prevent it from breaking.
The originally planned release date for Fallout London was 23 April, St George’s Day, which was meant to coincide with the in-universe day the character would emerge from the Vault in the mod. While this setback is disappointing for the Fallout London team, Carter acknowledged that it’s positive that Bethesda is updating and modernizing such an old game. However, he noted that these changes could potentially impact the mod and will need to be incorporated to ensure it runs smoothly. Consequently, Fallout London no longer has a set release date, with Carter expressing that the necessary fixes could take a week or up to a month.
Although the delay is frustrating for an eagerly anticipated mod that has been on the horizon for the last few months, the delay is not the fault of Team FOLON, as they are adapting to the changes brought on by Bethesda.
