Bad news for Final Fantasy fans! PlayStation Plus has confirmed that 25 games, including seven Final Fantasy titles, will be leaving its Extra and Premium PS Plus libraries on May 21. Alongside the original Final Fantasy 7, other titles from the series such as 8, 9, and both parts of 10, are also set to depart on the same day. PlayStation Plus users have expressed concern over the lack of warning about games leaving the service, highlighting the downsides of relying on a subscription for access to games.
This development also includes titles like The Artful Escape, My Friend Pedro, Jotun, and Monster Jam Steel Titans 2, all of which will no longer be accessible after May 21. It’s important to note that even if these games are downloaded, they will become unplayable once they leave PS Plus, unless they are purchased. This news coincides with the addition of new games to the Extra and Premium tiers, with Dave The Diver being a notable addition on the same day it was released on PS5. Additionally, 13 other games were also added to the library on this significant day for the service.
PlayStation Plus, offered in three tiers (Essential, Extra, and Premium), provides free monthly games, a catalog of hundreds of titles, cloud storage, discounts, and online multiplayer gameplay. While the departure of 25 games might be disappointing for enthusiasts, the service continues to offer new experiences and opportunities for its subscribers.
