The PC port of Origins is notoriously bad, making the original games needlessly difficult to get into. BioWare has already solved this problem with Mass Effect Legendary Collection, and Dragon Age should follow suit. Each game builds on the events of the last, and players assume the role of a new hero named Rook. If you’ve played Inquisition, your connection to this prologue will be deeper.
PlayStation fans are left in the lurch, unlike Mass Effect Legendary Collection. A new Mass Effect is in the works, but there’s no concrete release window. EA doesn’t need to pour a mountain of resources into its old games; remakes are overkill. A neatly bundled port allows players to dive back into the world and uncover the story.
This move is great for video game preservation and gives newcomers a feast to enjoy after The Veilguard. The first two Dragon Age games hold up, and a neatly bundled port does the trick, allowing players to dive back into the world and uncover the story they’ve missed out on. It might be the first-ever Game of the Year winner, but it’s hardly the best representative of Dragon Age. It’s far too late now to get a Legendary Collection a la Mass Effect for Dragon Age ahead of The Veilguard, but if it’s not something EA has cooking for the near future, then what a wasted opportunity.
