According to a reliable leaker, the successor to the Nintendo Switch will have backward compatibility with OG Switch games, with the ability to enhance them. This means that both physical and digital OG Switch games will be playable on the new console. Additionally, the leaker suggests that this feature will not only benefit consumers but also enable producers and developers to study and make improvements to current titles in the Nintendo Switch library. Universo Nintendo has also hinted at the possibility of Nintendo unveiling its next console in March, following a Nintendo Direct showcase later this month.
There are also rumors of an upcoming Pokemon presentation. Although Nintendo had initially stated that the recent technology demonstration was solely to showcase the capabilities of the Switch successor, the rumors suggest that it may actually become a feature of the Nintendo Switch 2.
