My gaming laptop and Xbox One can’t handle these games properly. Over the past few years, Obsidian Entertainment, which is under Xbox, has been extremely busy. They have released Grounded and Pentiment, and are soon to release the RPG Avowed. However, fans are worried about The Outer Worlds 2 as there has been little news since its announcement three years ago.
Obsidian’s CEO, Feargus Urquhart, recently gave a development update on The Outer Worlds 2 in an interview with YouTube channel Limit Break Network. He mentioned that the development is going well despite the challenging times at the studio, and he is very impressed with the team working on it. Urquhart also discussed Obsidian’s struggles in managing multiple projects, especially after its acquisition and during the pandemic, and expressed gratitude towards Microsoft and the teams for their understanding and support. He acknowledged that some timelines have shifted but emphasized the commitment to delivering all the games.
Despite the challenges, Obsidian seems to be handling the workload well, and The Outer Worlds 2 appears to be progressing smoothly. With the focus likely on Avowed, which has been delayed to February 2025, it remains to be seen if there will be any new updates on The Outer Worlds 2 in the near future.
