The voice actor for one of the Helldiver characters is Yuri Lowenthal, also known for voicing Spider-Man on the PS5. Lowenthal confirmed his involvement in Helldivers 2 through a tweet and mentioned that his performance was heavily inspired by Starship Troopers.
Starship Troopers is a movie set in the 23rd century and centers around an interstellar war with an alien species of arachnids. The film features actors such as Casper Van Dien, Denise Richards, Michael Ironside, and Neil Patrick Harris.
Yuri Lowenthal’s voice pack is available in the game’s Armory as Voice Pack 2, alongside other options such as Critical Role and Hi-Fi Rush star Robbie Daymond, Starfield and Call of Duty actor Julie Nathanson, and Spider-Man alumni Erica Lindbeck as Black Cat. A clip showing Yuri Lowenthal’s voice in action is available for viewing, with the player’s character humorously screaming about being injured.
Helldivers 2, which received four stars from TheGamer for its deep combat and satirical tone, is currently experiencing major bugs and server issues impacting player progression.
