According to the reliable insider known as Dusk Golem, Capcom is working on four other games in the Resident Evil series in addition to its next main installment. However, these projects won’t be released until late 2026 or early 2027. It is unclear whether this release timeline applies to Resident Evil 9 or one of the other games in development.
Resident Evil Village is approaching its third anniversary, so fans are hopeful for a follow-up in the series sooner rather than later. No information about these projects was revealed at recent PlayStation and Xbox showcases, but Capcom is currently occupied with preparing for the launch of Dragon’s Dogma 2. It is possible that more details about the Resident Evil projects will be announced after the release of Dragon’s Dogma 2.
