The upcoming crossover includes a Chewbacca skin in the Lego Fortnite Battle Pass, which will cost 1,400 V-Bucks. Fans have criticized Epic for seemingly imposing a “Lego tax” on players. Furthermore, to obtain all the crossover items, players will need to spend 12,000 V-Bucks, which is approximately $96, not including the Lego Star Wars Decor Bundles.
This has led to a wave of discontent among fans, who consistently express dissatisfaction with the pricing of Fortnite’s crossover events. The Star Wars crossover is set to begin on May 3, featuring items and bundles in various game modes such as Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and Battle Royale. The standout addition is the Chewbacca skin, which is part of the Lego Fortnite Star Wars Pass and costs 1,400 V-Bucks, roughly equivalent to $12. However, fans have voiced their disappointment, particularly regarding the additional 400 V-Bucks charged compared to the previous Star Wars crossover Battle Pass.
Some players feel the Lego Fortnite mode holds little appeal, and the extra charge has been dubbed a “Lego tax,” questioning the pass’s value despite the increased cost. Additionally, complaints about the overall pricing of the Star Wars cosmetics have extended across all game modes, with estimates suggesting that to access all the crossover content, players would require roughly 12,000 V-Bucks, equating to around $96, excluding the optional Lego Star Wars Decor Bundles priced between 250-750 V-Bucks.
