The company has confirmed that Jabba will still appear in the base game of Star Wars Outlaws without the need for a season pass. However, those who wish to play the ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission must purchase the season pass or an edition of the game that includes it. These premium editions start at $109.99, much to the frustration of fans.
This information comes from a spokesperson of Ubisoft, as reported by Eurogamer. The ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission is an optional additional mission involving the Hutt Cartel in the Outer Rim, and will only be available to those who have purchased the season pass or an edition that includes the pass. The spokesperson added that Jabba and his faction are part of the experience for all players, with only the ‘Jabba’s Gambit’ mission being kept behind the day-one paywall.
The season pass can be purchased separately or with the premium editions of the game, priced at $109.99 or $129.99. The base game itself is priced at $70. Additionally, access to all the season pass content is available through a subscription to Ubisoft+, priced at $17.99 a month.
There are plans to add more missions to the season pass after the launch. In positive news, Star Wars Outlaws will not include Ubisoft’s famous towers. This tradition, found in many open-world Ubisoft games, requires players to find towers to unlock parts of the map.
Instead, Outlaws will allow players to explore freely and unlock the map as they explore, following the more common open-world game approach. Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch on August 27 for special editions and August 30 for others, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
