The gameplay deep-dive of Sparking Zero showcased a lot of respect for both Budokai Tenkaichi and, surprisingly, Raging Blast. The announcement of a Hunter x Hunter fighting game by Eighting, the developers behind Naruto: Clash of Ninja, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes, and Marvel vs Capcom 3, was a big surprise. Everyone has been waiting to see how Nen Impact would turn out. The demo suggests that the final game will have 16 playable characters in its roster, with only six of those fighters known so far.
This is a smaller selection than most games. Even after only seeing ten minutes of gameplay, Nen Impact looks like it’s going to have a lot of the same greatness expected from Eighting, both for casual and competitive play. However, some fans are not happy with the game’s more simplistic visuals and smaller roster. While more casual fans have criticized Nen Impact for its graphics and roster size, the general consensus is that it looks to have great gameplay that will hopefully make up for those weaker elements.
Justin Wong’s statement, “I played Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact for 2 hours and I wish I can play for 10 more hours,” indicates that the game has promising potential.
