Today’s update for Fortnite Festival introduces support for guitar controllers, enhancing the gameplay experience. Initially, only Riffmaster and Rock Band 4 guitar controllers are compatible, with plans to add more instruments in future updates.
This addition aims to further immerse players in the Rock Band experience within the game mode. The availability of guitar controller support allows players to recreate the nostalgic experience of playing rhythm games with big plastic controllers.
To clarify, currently only guitars are compatible with Fortnite Festival, ruling out compatibility for drum sets and microphones. However, the announcement indicates that additional instrument compatibility will be introduced in future updates.
Fortnite provides a breakdown of compatible controllers for different platforms. For PS4 and PS5, the Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller for PlayStation 5 and 4, and the Rock Band 4 Wireless Fender Jaguar and Fender Stratocaster Guitars for PlayStation 4 are compatible.
For Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, the Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC, as well as the Rock Band 4 Wireless Fender Jaguar and Fender Stratocaster Guitars for Xbox One, are compatible. The Riffmaster controllers, priced at $129.99, are relatively expensive, while the Rock Band 4 controllers offer a more accessible option.
Due to limited availability in stores and high prices on online platforms such as eBay, obtaining these controllers may prove challenging for some players. Nonetheless, with today’s update, players can still enjoy the Billie Eilish crossover in the game.
Additionally, the leaked roadmap, which predicted the Fortnite Festival event featuring Eilish, has gained credibility, hinting at exciting future collaborations with artists like Metallica, Karol G, and Snoop Dogg.
