The recent update to Fortnite’s Chapter 5, Season 2 introduced the Wings of Icarus, a significant new addition to the game. However, these items have now been vaulted to make way for the Avatar: Elements event.
This event, which launched today, brings a variety of new Mythical items based on the bending abilities of the main cast from the Avatar series. It seems that Epic Games made the decision to vault the Wings of Icarus and other items in order to avoid potential imbalance with the introduction of numerous new Mythicals through the Elements event.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, this move aligns with the recent launch of the Elements event, suggesting a desire to maintain balance in the game. As a result of this change, players will be unable to utilize the flying abilities introduced in Chapter 5, Season 2 for nearly a month, until May 3.
It remains to be seen whether the new Avatar Mythicals will be as impactful as the now-vaulted Greek-inspired items.
