Magic: The Gathering’s Secret Lair is celebrating Hatsune Miku through four planned drops. The collaboration includes Miku-themed cards, with the first drop, Secret Lair x Hatsune Miku: Sakura Superstar, releasing in May.
Although the cards may not hold high value, they are popular in Magic’s Commander format. The cards included in the first drop are Azusa, Lost But Seeking, Feather, the Redeemed, Miku’s Spark, Miku, Lost But Singing, Miku, the Renowned, Shelter, Harmonize, and Inspiring Vantage.
These cards, while not typically high-profile, are all played in the game. Hatsune Miku, a Vocaloid voicebank, has become a globally recognized virtual singer.
She has appeared in various media and has her own games, manga, and live concerts. Interestingly, this isn’t the first collaboration between Hatsune Miku and Magic: The Gathering.
In 2022, Miku contributed to the Japanese-inspired cyberpunk set Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty with a single called Connected. The Sakura Superstar drop will be available from May 13 as part of the Spring Superdrop.
It will be offered while stock lasts and will be available in both English and Japanese editions.
