The first entry in the series outperformed The Legend of Dragoon, taking the top spot in the catalog. It’s clear there is an appetite for more Sly Cooper, and fans are pushing for more Sly Cooper games to be re-released on modern hardware.

While it’s only been a little over a week since its release, Sly Cooper has immediately made PlayStation history. The data sample comes via analysis of over 3.1 million active PlayStation Network accounts.
Sucker Punch’s first entry in the Sly Cooper series eclipsed The Legend of Dragoon by 2.5%. In doing so, it now owns the top spot among games in the catalog since the launch of PS Plus tiers in June 2022.
Also of note, Tomb Raider Legend jumped to the number three spot on the top five list. That game launched alongside Sly Cooper, so its immediate popularity is a major bit of news.
GameInsights’ list is specifically of PS Plus Premium games of which classic titles are exclusively part of. As for Sly Cooper’s impact on PS Plus as a whole, it’s the eighth most popular title of 2024.
The popularity of Sly Cooper’s return to PlayStation shouldn’t be all too surprising given that the last game was released in 2013 on PS3 and Vita. With that in mind, it’s clear that there is an appetite for more Sly Cooper.
There are three additional Sly Cooper games, including two on the PlayStation 2, as well as the aforementioned PS3 and Vita crossplay title, all of which could feasibly end up on modern hardware. It wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to see all of Sly Cooper playable on PS4 and PS5.
