The new Major Order in Helldivers 2 is a challenge where players are struggling to coordinate efforts to effectively defend planets. At the time of writing, four out of ten planets have been successfully defended, with just under a day and a half remaining before the Order expires.
The issue with this Major Order is the lack of centralized coordination among players. Platforms like Discord and Reddit are not efficient for strategizing and coordinating tactics.
There is also a lack of consensus on which strategies should be followed and who should be held accountable if a plan fails. While Arrowhead is already making efforts to aid coordination, there is a real lack of player effort in the coordinated war effort.
Many players are either unaware or apathetic towards the organized war effort, choosing to focus on their own gameplay preferences. There are challenges in how to effectively coordinate players, as well as uncertainty on whether the incoming tools from Arrowhead will substantially change the situation.
This leaves the possibility that players will continue to struggle, the developers will not intervene further, and the same challenges will be faced repeatedly. In conclusion, the lack of coordination and centralized place for players to strategize is hindering the success of the Major Order in Helldivers 2.
The issue of player effort and the potential need for Arrowhead to intervene further are also highlighted.
