Understanding the Functions of Stats and Attributes in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Stats and attributes play a fundamental role in shaping your battle strategy in Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes. To effectively defeat your enemies, you must ensure that the right characters employ the appropriate attacks to inflict maximum damage.

The game provides you with your castle early on and offers nearby individuals to help fill it. Given that the game is a homage to JRPGs, particularly the Suikoden series, it assumes that players can grasp how stats and attributes function without explicit explanations.

However, this assumption can be risky, as equipping a character with the wrong rune can significantly diminish their damage output, and neglecting factors like Dexterity and Luck in party builds can leave you susceptible to attacks. Each character in Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes has seven stats to monitor.

While some, such as Physical Defense and Magic, are straightforward, others, like Dexterity and Luck, are less intuitive. It is essential to understand the order and purpose of all the stats.

The game includes five physical attributes: slash, thrust, blunt, grapple, and aerial, which don’t interact with each other the way magical attributes do. However, they do affect certain types of enemies.

Magical Attributes in the game are focused on dealing magic damage and consist of six types: Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Light, and Dark. Each element has a specific relationship with other elements and characters can learn new spells by equipping different runes.

However, it is crucial to note that characters have varying levels of affinity with each element, and equipping a character with a rune tied to an element they are not affinity with can render them ineffective. The game does not offer explicit information on a character or enemy’s affinities, thus requiring players to determine them through trial and error.
