Ubisoft has announced the release date for its long-awaited arena shooter XDefiant, which will be available on May 21 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. The game will start with a six-week preseason, followed by new seasons every three months.
Each season will include a new faction, three maps, three weapons, and a 90-tier Battle Pass. XDefiant is positioning itself as a potential rival to Call of Duty, and after multiple test sessions and community feedback, Ubisoft has finally confirmed the release date.
The game’s preseason will transition into a regular seasonal schedule, with promised updates every three months, introducing new content and fixes/improvements to existing features. Ubisoft is committed to supporting XDefiant in its first year, with each season bringing new content, including weapons, maps, and a Battle Pass.
Additional arena and progression modes, a ranked mode, private matches, player protection features, and other additions will be introduced to help newcomers ease into the game. The future looks promising for XDefiant, but only time will reveal whether it can truly challenge and surpass Call of Duty’s dominance in the genre.
