Garry’s Mod removes all Nintendo content after receiving takedown notice.

Garry’s Mod, developed by Facepunch Studios, is in the process of removing all Nintendo content due to receiving takedown notices from Nintendo itself. The decision is considered fair by Facepunch, and they are urging creators to delete any Nintendo-related content they may have to expedite the process.

The team behind the game is actively working to eliminate every piece of Nintendo content in response to the received takedown notices from the company. Despite the fact that players have been using Nintendo maps, characters, and items in Garry’s Mod for over 18 years without any issues, they are now being removed following the takedown notices.

Facepunch Studios acknowledges this as Nintendo’s decision and encourages others to respect it, despite the disappointment it may cause. The process of removing the Nintendo content will require ongoing efforts, and the company is asking anyone who has uploaded Nintendo-related content to delete it voluntarily to assist in this endeavor.

The removal of almost 20 years’ worth of Nintendo content from Garry’s Mod will result in the loss of many popular creations. Notably, one of the most popular maps in the Trouble in Terrorist Town game mode, based on Kakariko Village from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, will likely have to be removed if Facepunch is to comply with the removal of all Nintendo content.
