This year, Pokemon Go will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with the Carnival of Love Event. The event will offer several bonuses and features that fit this theme. Additionally, a new Shiny Pokemon variation will be making its Pokemon Go debut during this event, making it a must-not-miss occasion. The event will only span three days, from Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10 am local time to Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 8 pm local time.
It will be centered around Valentine’s Day and promises plenty of exciting activities and encounters. One of the highlights of the event is the debut of Shiny Oricorio in Pokemon Go. This Pokemon, which has different region variants such as Baile Style, Pom-Pom Style, Pa’u Style, and Sensu Style, will be available for encounters in the wild during the event. Another exciting feature is the return of Furfrou’s Heart Trim, typically only available during annual Valentine’s Day-themed events.
Players will have the opportunity to alter Furfrou to acquire this trim by spending 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust. Additionally, the event will offer two active bonuses that provide the opportunity to acquire Candy XL, a rare resource in Pokemon Go. There will also be an extra bonus for players in Brazil, offering double XP when catching different Pokemon. During the event, there will be several Valentine’s Day-themed Pokemon available in the wild, including different styles of Oricorio and different colored Flabébé, depending on the region.
Players can also participate in a Paid Timed Research, which upon completion will provide rewards such as Incense, encounters with Spinda with a heart pattern, Stardust, and XP. Event-themed Collection Challenges and Field Research Task Encounters will also be available to all players, offering additional rewards and rare encounters. Moreover, event Pokemon Showcases will take place at different PokeStops, allowing players to enter their largest Buddy Pokemon to earn points and receive better rewards. These showcases are open to Great Buddy or higher level Buddy Pokemon.
