Lego Star Wars recently unveiled a TIE Interceptor set, featuring 1,931 pieces and two Minifigures. The set is set to launch on May 1 for Lego Insiders and May 4 for everyone else, with a price tag of $229.99. This release is part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations of the partnership between Star Wars and Lego. To mark the occasion, a new nearly 2,000-piece Lego Star Wars set inspired by one of the first Star Wars releases is being introduced this May.
The TIE Interceptor, one of the iconic Star Wars ships, has been recreated with meticulous detail in this set. In a playful nod to the TIE Interceptor’s distinctive sound, Lego shared a video of its employees attempting to replicate the sound with the set as inspiration. The set also includes a speeder and six Minifigures that can ascend into the AT-AT via its working winch. The TIE Interceptor set will also introduce two new Minifigures – a TIE Pilot and an Imperial Mouse Droid.
In addition to this release, Lego has been unveiling multiple sets leading up to Star Wars Day, and may continue to do so beyond May 4. This TIE Interceptor set is poised to celebrate the enduring partnership between Star Wars and Lego and offers fans a new way to engage with the beloved franchise.
